The Vodafone 2G network is shutting down on 30th June 2018. This means you may need a new mobile phone or a new SIM card.
Reward Mobile services use the Vodafone Network. Reward Mobile services have been available with Vodafone 3G connectivity for several years and most Reward Mobile customers are now using 3G services, however if you use an older mobile phone or SIM card you may need to replace it in order for your service to work after 30th June 2018.
How do I know if I need a new phone?
If you have a 2G phone then you will need a new phone to use your service after 30th June 2018.
You can check if you need a new mobile phone service by completing the following steps:
- Find the IMEI number of your phone. This may be printed on a label under the battery, otherwise just dial *#06# on your phone keypad and the IMEI will be displayed on the screen.
- Visit IMEI.info [?] and enter your IMEI and click ‘check’.
- IMEI.info will return a result [?] with information about your mobile phone.
What do the results mean?
If the search result for your phone only shows GSM – you have a 2G phone. You will need a new phone.
If the search result for your phone shows HSDPA but the number 900 is not in the list – your phone does not support the right network frequency for the Vodafone 3G network. You will need a new phone.
If the search result for your phone shows HSDPA and the number 900 is in the list – your phone is a 3G 900MHz phone and is suitable for the Vodafone 3G network. You will not need to replace your phone.

If you have a Smartphone and it mostly displays E or G as the data service you may have a 3G phone but a 2G SIM. In this case you will need to call our Customer Care team on 1300 305 30 and order a new Reward Mobile SIM card.
